Daniel and Jennifer Kim

Daniel and Jennifer Kim – NuSkin

Over the years, I know that MLM has received a bad rap. It has been referred to as pyramid schemes, and some network marketing companies have been accused of running MLM scams.

Whether you believe it or not is up to you. I do know that those that decide to go into business for themselves are some smart cookies. Although you and I have both heard that the economy is doing better, I have yet to see any real improvement. Especially when I read day after day of businesses downsizing or closing stores. Today, people are still losing their jobs left and right.

I do notice about those that are going into MLM: the age is getting younger. I have written a number of personal profiles of top earners who are in their late 20s or early 30s. I commend these individuals. No more waiting until you are near retirement age to decide to do something else. Men and women are now deciding while they are still young to go into business for themselves.

But that’s not to say that if you’re middle aged or older you won’t benefit from getting into network marketing. As a matter of fact, it is just the opposite. With multilevel marketing, you can start your home-based business at any age.

This is a great positive, given the fact that if you wanted to get another job or start another career with a corporation when you are older, the chances of getting a position are slim to none. You and I both know that corporate America likes to hire younger employees. This way, they can pay them whatever wages they decide, and the insurance is cheaper to keep them around.

The concept of hiring younger workers vs. older workers is quite “interesting” to me. I have worked with individuals who were 20 or more years younger than me. Do you know what the deal was? These youngsters would sit in meetings (this is actually a true story) and tell management what they were or weren’t going to do. I remember one young lady who actually stated that she was bored and that they (the company, managers, etc.) had to find her something else to do.

I just sat there with my mouth open. Seriously??? I knew if I had said something like that, I would be at the exit so fast, my head would be spinning. But this is the mentality of young people in corporate America. I am not saying that all young workers are like this, but in general, this is the mentality.

When I was growing up, I was always told that hard work paid off. This is why I did my best to excel in school and at work. Whether babysitting or a summer program, I have always had some sort of job since I was 15. This taught me responsibility at an early age, and it also provided me with the mindset to learn skills for doing a good job.

And this has served me fine during my time in corporate America. Regardless if I decided to keep a job or change, I have always been able to get new employment.

But, that was then and this is now. Today, as I have gotten older, I have noticed that older people are being pushed out. Employees who are close to retirement are “highly” encouraged to leave a company. The problem is that with social security being cut or reduced, you can’t depend on this money in your “golden years’ to live off of.

This is the reason why you see so many people age 65 and over still working. Not to mention, companies are downsizing or filing bankruptcy left and right, so your pension or 401K is in jeopardy. There are no “definites” anymore.

A pleasant surprise is there is no age cap for relationship marketing. Whether you are 26 or 56, there is a place for you in MLM. Several individuals who are a part of the direct selling family start in the industry after spending 15 or more years working in corporate America. They were welcomed with open arms.

That sure is different than if they applied for another job with another corporation. If you get an interview, the first question you will surely get is, “Aren’t you overqualified for this position?” I have never understood the logic behind this question. How can a person be overqualified? What exactly does that mean? Either you have the skills to do the job or you don’t.

What this question is code for is just a way to keep people they don’t want to hire out of the company. In particular, older people who are need another job or might want to get back into the workforce. I know you hear all the time about corporations who are looking to hire older people, but this is so untrue. The really bad and nasty part of all this is that “older” in corporations is anyone over 35. How ridiculous?

Daniel and Jennifer Kim started with Nu Skin so they could have the time and financial freedom they have always wanted. Working with Nu Skin in Australia, the New South Wales couple has put in the work and dedication that has helped them achieve Blue Diamond Executive status. These two also have been members of Team Elite for 2000, 2001, and 2002.

Today, this power duo travels around the world, leading their team and helping these individuals achieve the success that they have. This is typical for many MLM top earners. They give back to those around them, regardless if the person is young or old. I have reviewed Nu Skin enterprises before, but if you forgot, read on to get the background.

Nu Skin

Nu Skin was established in 1984 in Provo, Utah. This multilevel marketing business focuses on creating personal care products, as well as nutritional supplements that focus on anti-aging. Unlike other health and beauty companies, Nu Skin uses innovative ingredients that are all good for the inside and outside of the body.

Interesting enough, most independent distributors for Nu Skin started off as devoted customers of its products before deciding in becoming a Nu Skin consultant. They didn’t even attend an event or affair. They loved the products, and the way they made their skin and body feel. People kept asking them, “What are you using to make your skin look so healthy?”

Another good point here is that I don’t care how good of a sales person you think you are, if you don’t believe in what you are selling, your MLM career isn’t going to go anywhere. You have to believe in the products and services you are selling to potential customers. As a network marketer, you have to possess confidence in what you are doing.

If you have read my other articles, you have read of people who had to go through two or three MLM business before finding the one that they considered building a career with.  As they say, home is where the heart is. If you don’t have faith in the people and the product of a directing selling business, you need to move on. It is just the same with a corporation (well, it should be). If you aren’t happy, or you aren’t feeling fulfilled, get gone.

This is why Nu Skin is so successful. It provides unique, naturally-good products and gives individuals like Daniel and Jennifer Kim a wonderful, prosperous earning opportunity. If you want to know how much the Kims make every month, try $115,000.00. This is evident they make the right choice hooking up with Nu Skin.

With successful independent distributors, NuSkin has become the top business for anti-aging products. While this might not be as popular as internet, mobile phone, or television satellite services, it is popular with folks wanting to look and feel good. If you watch commercials, every major health and beauty brand has an anti-aging sector. While you might be 60, you surely don’t want to look it if you can help it…LOL!

Multilevel marketing is quite a rewarding industry. Unlike people who work in corporate America, these individuals, like Daniel and Jennifer Kim, are their own boss, making their own money. Most importantly, they enjoy what they do. This is why they put so much into making sure that their home-based business is a success. Reaping the benefits is its own just reward. There is no better time than the present to get started on your MLM career!
